Baby Products Online in India

As an increasing number of Indians begin to shop online, more e-commerce companies in the country are attracting venture capital. One of the latest deals in the sector involves a $2.5 million investment in online baby products retailer BabyOye.com.

This six-month-old startup is still a baby itself, but it will use this first round of funding to grow quickly by hiring more people, expanding its supply chain, building warehouses and increasing its product range to 20,000 items by t he end of the year. BabyOye was founded by first-time entrepreneurs, and it has so far partnered with over 80 brands that offer over 4,000 products on the site, including everything from Pampers diapers, Chicco food, Johnson's skincare range and cyclemaker BSA's prams and strollers. Baby care is estimated to be a $3 billion market in India.
